Hallabolou Camps 2017
Hallabolou Summer Camp from July 2 – August 31!
Sunday – Thursday 9am – 3pm, Half Day also available.
Campers are given a series of building challenges using LEGO® bricks that will spark fun, creative and outlandish competitions. Will the Hex® Bug fall off? How high can they go? Where does it start? Limitations are set by a child’s imagination and a few guiding principles. Hallabolou Campers race against the ticking clock and use basic engineering concepts while developing their team building skills…. an adventure in active learning.
Lords and Ladies you have been tasked to build the finest city in the world – Hallabolou has recently acquired a large plot of land and requested you by name to design, develop and build a modern city of our times. Create a City Council by electing a Mayor and a City Planner. Each day will be started by the Mayor’s gavel as s/he opens with a City Council meeting. You will have to work as a team to make vital decisions concerning buildings, businesses, services, housing, educational facilities and energy development. On the last day you will present the city to Hallabolou and the official investors (your parents). After the presentation the floor will be open for questions. An exciting team building project using LEGO® bricks and the child’s imagination is the blue print!
Stars on Stage Theater Camp
Campers will be introduced to the basic elements of Theater through games, activities and imaginary play, while having loads of fun. Hallabolou will present each camper with different techniques and skills such as theatrical presentations, scene comprehension, and context. Cameras and Autographs are allowed and highly encouraged!
All the world’s a stage, and all the boys and girls merely players!
Hallabonaut Space Training Camp
Space Training Camp where aspiring young space explorers will reach for the stars. Children will become immersed in an astronaut training experience that involves both fitness of the mind and body. After checking in with mission control each day, your young Hallabonaut will be launched into a series of hands-on training missions. Missions will involve Space Lab experiments, Space Suit/Space Station design, Solar System investigations, Hallabonaut pre-flight physical training, Hallabonaut nutrition, and much, much more.
Extreme S.T.E.A.M. Science & Art Fun
Extreme STEAM is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) based program that encourages team- work, imagination and self confidence skills. The campers will create working race cars, catapults, glowing lava lamps, rockets and several other fun projects. The best part is the campers don’t even know they are learning because they are having a blast with their friends and making a mess!
Challenge: Cricket Camp
Campers will name and create a story for their very own solar powered cricket! Campers will be given a series of challenges and obstacles that they must help their cricket complete by inventing and building tools from recycled materials. Help Mr. Cricket get across the rapid flowing stream to have lunch with his friends or climb the tree to see over the newly built fence. Imagination, team work and a little engineering equals a camp of everlasting fun and friendship.
Dash & Dot
Computer science has never been more accessible or more fun! Campers learn how to code and create their own software programs using the amazing robots Dash and Dot from the Wonder Workshop. Campers send basic commands to the robots to move them, light them up, and enable them to detect and interact with the world around them.
